Dedan Kimathi Monument
Symbol of Kenya's Freedom Struggle
Standing proudly near Kimathi Street, the bronze statue of Dedan Kimathi honours the Mau Mau leader who became one of the most powerful symbols of Kenya's struggle for independence. Holding a rifle and a traditional sword, the monument invites visitors to look beyond the figure itself and reflect on the price of freedom.
